About this Program

This graduate certificate provides learners with knowledge and skills necessary to become effective special education teachers. Course competencies related to assessment, teaming, learning theories, pedagogy, and research-based practices are designed for initial and add-on teacher licensure candidates.

The completion of courses in this graduate certificate meets MN Board of Teaching (BOT) Licensure Standards in regard to the MN Core Special Education competencies for an individual seeking a MN Teaching license in the field of special education. Students admitted to this program, who are seeking a MN teaching license, must work with an advisor to determine courses needed to meet MN BOT licensure standards.

This certificate is specifically designed to meet MN Board of Teaching (BOT) Licensure Standards. A student admitted to this program must work with an advisor to determine the exact number of credits needed to meet MN BOT licensure standards.
