About this Program

The major in Computer Information Technology (CIT) is designed to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge to take on professional positions in Information Technology upon graduation and to grow into leadership positions or to pursue research or graduate studies in the field. Three areas of specialization are available:

Database Technologies
Networking and Information Security
Software Development

Computer Information Technology (CIT) in its broadest sense encompasses all aspects of computing technology. CIT, as an academic discipline, focuses on meeting the needs of users within an organizational and societal context through the election, creation, application, integration and administration of computing technologies. The aim is to provide CIT graduates with the skills and knowledge to take on appropriate professional positions in Information Technology upon graduation and grow into leadership positions or pursue research or graduate studies in the field. The CIT program also has five minors.
