About this Program

The Electrical Utility Technology program prepares individuals for employment in the electrical utilities industry. Instruction includes technical knowledge and skills to install indoor and outdoor residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systems, and associated power transmission lines. The curriculum covers electricity, safety procedures, wiring, insulation and grounding, schematic blueprint interpretation, and equipment operation and maintenance. Students may also complete a Clean Energy certificate and may receive additional Building Performance Institute (BPI) national certification in home energy through FDLTCC.
