About this Program

The Cybersecurity, Virtualization, and Networking program at Alexandria Technical & Community College prepares the student to enter the fast-growing field of Information Technology. Students will learn how to support the growing fields of networking, cybersecurity, virtual environments, and personal computers. Course content includes operating systems, Local Area Networking (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) management, virtual network environments, computer and network security, and computer maintenance and repair.

Graduates will possess a broad base of training. As the field of Information Technology changes, new careers are continuing to emerge providing broader employment opportunities. This breadth of training is the strength of the program; it enables graduates to choose from a variety of options and to be ready for technology changes as they occur.

Alexandria Technical & Community College is a Cisco Networking Academy and uses the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) curriculum. This curriculum provides the student the opportunity to learn and understand the networking environment to better design, build, and maintain a network in today�s challenging business climate. The student will work with Cisco Networking equipment and have access to the Cisco classroom curriculum.
