About this Program

This 17-credit certificate is designed to provide students with the training they need to become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Upon completion of this certificate, the student is eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician skill and written examinations. The student will then be ready to enter a career in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance services, emergency room and urgent care facilities, 911 dispatchers and rescue teams, law enforcement, security services, and others.
In addition, this curriculum prepares students to seamlessly transfer into the next step in their education to become a Paramedic, Community Paramedic, Medical Assistant, Advanced EMT, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.
