Inver Hills Community College seeks a Director of Nursing to provide leadership and management of the Inver Hills Associate Degree Nursing Program, faculty and staff.  The Director supervises approximately 20 faculty and staff.
  • Provide guidance, support and leadership to the IHCC Associate Degree Nursing Program; member of Minnesota Alliance for Nursing Education (MANE).
  • Coordinate, implement and maintain nursing program accreditation and approval.
  • Guide faculty in the development, implementation, revision, and maintenance of professional curriculum within current industry standards.
  • Collaborate with nursing faculty on all matters related to nursing program admissions, student orientation and registration. 
  • Secure and coordinate nursing program schedules/clinical sites; supervise nursing faculty and participate in the hiring process.
  • Lead collaborative planning with higher education and healthcare agency partners.
  • Provide advising to students; oversee and make decisions related to student issues, appeals, petitions, grading, faculty/student issues, etc.
  • Working with the Policy Council and Dean of Allied Health Science, facilitate the development and implementation of college policies and procedures for the IHCC Associate Degree Nursing Program.
  • Manage and prepare the annual and instructional budget for the nursing program.
  • Maintain professional competence with nursing skills and licensure; attend professional organization meetings; participate on college committees and initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Nursing Administration, Nursing Education, Public Health Nursing or a nursing clinical specialty.
  • Recent nursing experience.
  • Eligible for licensure in the State of Minnesota as a Registered Nurse.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, organizational, and facilitation skills.
  • Evidence of professional leadership.
  • Experience in fostering collaborative working relationships.
  • Experience with diverse populations.
  • Student centered educational philosophy that advocates holistic practices.
  • Commitment to the community college mission, goals, and philosophy of education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three-five years of experience in administration of collegiate nursing programs.
  • Administrative nursing experience.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in curriculum development.
  • Experience with information technology or distance education.
  • Experience with accreditation processes.
  • Experience with union contracts.
  • Passionate about nursing education.

Starting Salary: $68,476-$89,021. Salary potential after appointment based on job performance to $109,564.
