Following is the statement issued by Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees Chair Michael Vekich. No additional statement is available at this time.

"As reported in the news media, the Board of Trustees of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities met in executive session Friday, August 6, to discuss the leadership needs of the system. The purpose of the meeting was for discussion only. No decisions were made nor were any expected. We did affirm, however, that we have the utmost confidence in the students, the presidents, and the administration who make up MnSCU. We also recognized that MnSCU operates in an environment that is becoming increasingly challenging and competitive.

The Board of Trustees will continue to work with Chancellor Morrie Anderson and others to assure that MnSCU has the necessary vision, policies and leadership to thrive in this competitive environment. There is no timetable for this process nor are we focused on any specific conclusions."
