Three finalists for the presidency of Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College in Cloquet have been advanced to Chancellor James H. McCormick of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities. The candidates are Larry Anderson, Donald R. Day and Nancy H. Omaha Boy.

Candidates were recommended by a search committee chaired by Joe Sertich, president of the Northeast Higher Education District. Tom Davis is currently serving as interim president.

Anderson has served as vice president of administration and student affairs at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College for three years. Prior to this, he served in other administrative roles for the college for three years. He previously directed a student services program at The College of St. Scholastica.

Day is the current director for the American Indian Center at St. Cloud State University where he has served since 1997. Prior to this, he was minority student services director for Bemidji State University for 13 years.

Omaha Boy has served as director of the Teaching Excellence Center and associate dean at Rutgers University in Camden, New Jersey, since 1992. Prior to this she was vice president for academic affairs at Reading Area Community College in Reading, Pennsylvania, for three years.

Chancellor McCormick and three members of the Board of Trustees will interview the candidates and make a recommendation to the full board, which will appoint the new president. The chancellor will consult with the chair of the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Tribal Board of Directors before making his recommendation.

Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College is the only combined tribal and community college in the United States, serving 1,450 students annually. The college is a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.
