The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustee has commended retired chancellor James McCormick for his outstanding performance in the past year and his overall performance as chancellor for the past 10 years.

“Chancellor McCormick has accomplished much by bringing the system together and creating a culture of continuous improvement and high achievement, while always maintaining a focus on serving students,” said Board Chair Scott Thiss. “It is noteworthy that in this, his last year, he took on difficult goals and worked diligently to exceed our expectations. It is clear that his intent was to continue to serve students until his final day as chancellor.”

Under the terms of McCormick’s contract, up to $50,000 of his salary was dependent on his performance. Thiss said he was paid the full amount.

McCormick retired July 30 after serving 10 years as chancellor.
