Statement: Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Chancellor Steven Rosenstone on Governor Dayton's Supplemental Budget Recommendation

ST. PAUL, Minn., March 06, 2014 - In response to Governor Dayton’s supplemental budget recommendation release on Thursday, March 6, Chancellor Steven Rosenstone issued the following statement:

"We greatly appreciate Governor Dayton’s unwavering support for Minnesota State Colleges and Universities and the critical role we play in ensuring access to an extraordinary education for all Minnesotans.  His supplemental budget proposal will advance the outstanding work of our faculty and staff.  We look forward to collaborating with House and Senate leaders to advance this investment in the success of our students and the communities we serve.”

The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities include 24 two-year community, technical, and comprehensive colleges and seven state universities serving more than 430,000 students. It is the fifth-largest higher education system of its kind in the United States.
