About this Program

This School Superintendent Certificate is intended to acknowledge students who persue state licensure as a school superintendent, but choose not to complete the requirments for the WSU Specialist Degree (EdS): Superintendent. The EdS degree requires, in addition to this certifiate, 6 credits related to scholarly research - the EdS Field Study (EL 789 and EL 799).

The School Superintendent Certificate requires two experiences beyond the WSU course work: 1) three years of successful classroom teaching experience while holding a classroom teaching license valid for the position or positions in which the experience was gained (if not completed EL 760 - Teacher Internship-1050 hours is required); and 2) upon completion of all course work, a successful exit evaluation with the WSU Licensing Review Panel.
