The Finance Division is comprised of five major units.These units are responsible for the oversight of all issues related to the financial stability and management of the system's 26 colleges, 7 universities, and the system office.

The Government Relations Division tracks legislation, advocates on our behalf, and assists all Minnesota State entities with political and legislative guidance.
The Human Resources (HR) Division supports the workforce needs of the Minnesota State system and is divided into seven functional areas providing systemwide support, resources, and guidance to college and university leaders, HR offices, and the HR Service Center. The seven functional areas include: Academic HR, HR Information Systems and HR Shared Services, Labor Relations, Talent Management, Total Rewards, Workers Compensation, and System Office HR.
Information Technology Services provides technological support for achieving success in learning enterprises, plus the full spectrum of system and campus technology needs.
Internal Auditing provides independent and objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the Minnesota State system.
The Marketing and Communications Division is charged with increasing awareness and understanding of Minnesota State.
The Workforce and Economic Development Division works in partnership with industry, government and education partners to develop the diverse, multi-talented, learning-agile workforce needed to grow Minnesota's economy now and in the future
