About this Program

SMSU�s BS in Agricultural Education (AGED) is multi-disciplinary. AGED develops students� skills in writing, speech communication, the natural and social sciences, marketing, leadership and organizational management. The AGED major includes a common core in communication studies, science, agriculture, and international development. AGED additionally offers two areas of emphasis: (1) Teacher Licensure Specialization for Agricultural Education (TL), or (2) Communications, Marketing and Leadership (CML) Specialization. The Teacher Licensure (TL) Specialization prepares students to be agriculture-teachers and FFA Coacher/Advisors in Minnesota�s schools. The Communications, Marketing and Leadership (CML) Specialization prepares students for professional careers in industrial, governmental and consultant positions. CML prepares graduates to serve as public relations specialists, agricultural journalists, sales representatives, marketing managers, and social media coordinators
