About this Program

PTCCs Nursing program is offered for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) who want to pursue an Associate of Science Degree in nursing to prepare to become a registered nurse (RN). With an A.S. in Nursing, students are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) to become a Registered Nurse (RN). The A.S. Degree in Nursing provides a broad foundation in nursing and healthcare sciences necessary for preparing professional nurses for practice in a competent and responsible fashion in a dynamic and diverse society. The curriculum
prepares graduates to function as practitioners in acute and long-term care, community
settings, hospitals, home care, and other nontraditional settings, as well as provides a foundation for leadership positions and further study (for those who plan to pursue a B.S.N.).
