About this Program

This certificate is designed to prepare students for a career as an emergency dispatcher. The certificate will introduce students to all the different segments of public safety and the needs of each as it relates to communication. It will introduce the students to the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to serve as a dispatcher. Through simulations students will experience the stressors, will learn de-escalation techniques and will be familiar with the types of technology that they will encounter in their career. This certificate will prepare students to take the public safety dispatcher certification exam.
