Minnesota State Week Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Minnesota State Week different from other campus visits?

Minnesota State Week is a great way to learn about your Minnesota State colleges and universities. You can visit a technical college, community college, or university. Or you can visit any combination of those three, to learn about different diplomas, certificates and degrees that are awarded based on what you’re interested in. And best of all, you can apply for FREE at any time that week to one or more of the colleges and universities of Minnesota State, saving you money!

Is it only for seniors?

Minnesota State Week is a great time for interested students to visit campuses no matter where they are in high school or if they are adult learners. The free application fee offer can only be used if you are applying to start school in the fall of 2022. However, if you’re interested in applying to start college in fall of 2023, you will be able to apply for free again the last week of October!

Can I still apply for free if I am only a junior in high school?

Minnesota State Week is a great time for interested students to visit campuses no matter where they are in high school or if they are adult learners. Do I need to register?

No, but registration is strongly recommended as it helps our campuses better prepare for the number of students expected to be at each visit. You can register online on the visit page of the school(s) you are interested in visiting.

How should I decide which colleges to visit?

Our Campuses & Programs web page is a great place to start. You can click around the interactive map or search campuses for college and university information, highlights, and offerings. Or, if you have a specific field of study or want to know what Minnesota State has to offer for certificates, diplomas or degrees, you can search using the programs section of the page.

The important thing is to start visiting some campuses. It will help you better imagine just what you are looking for as your college search advances.

Can I visit schools before or after the event?

Of course, you are welcome to schedule a visit at any time at any of your Minnesota State colleges and universities. Use our Ask Us About Admissions web page to connect with the admissions office at the campuses you are interested in visiting.

Can I bring someone else on my visit too?

Guests are more than welcome to join you for your campus visit!
