Introduction to Special Education
The 2023-24 school year is my 12th year of teaching as a Special Education Teacher and Case Manager. I have worked with students from diverse backgrounds and throughout all grade levels. Currently I work for a school called Gateway to College through Saint Paul Public Schools.
Teaching changes every day and that is invigorating. I enjoy supporting students with diverse needs and seeing them succeed.
My advice to students is show up and be open to participating and discussing. We all have experiences and knowledge to share. Make sure that if you are struggling ask for help. And always take advantage of opportunities for experiential learning.
I was on the first girls high school hockey team in Saint Paul. I still play adult hockey during the winter. I also love traveling internationally and domestically.
