Interdisciplinary Applications of AI Emphasizing Public Safety

A Multi Campus Collaboration to Develop and Offer a Minnesota State System Wide Course on Applications of Artificial Intelligence across the Criminal Justice System

Background

Criminal Justice faculty and IT departments from St. Cloud State University (SCSU) and Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) are collaborating with a national expert/educator in AI and technical specialists from IBM. Together the partnership is developing, teaching, and providing technical support for a dual enrollment course on applications of Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing, and the ethical concerns associated with these applications across the criminal justice system. This initiative will help prepare criminal justice students to enter a rapidly changing profession.
