Computer Camp

This is an introductory computer camp designed for teens ages 14-18 that focuses on computer programming, computer hardware, operating systems, and cybersecurity. Students do not need to have any computer knowledge but do need an interest in technology, programming, and cybersecurity. Our program goals include students learning safe practices for online behaviors and increasing knowledge of computer programming and cybersecurity careers. Students learn in a team-based environment that includes hands-on activities. Student activities include building computers, learning Python programming, exploring cyber threats, and safe practices.

GenJ Institute

The Generation Justice Institute will provide a collaborative space for middle and high school students to explore social issues, analyze their causes, and brainstorm solutions. We hope to empower youth to move from awareness to advocacy and work towards a more just society.

Machine Tool Camp

Unlock the world of manufacturing and precision machining at Lake Superior College’s Machine Tool Summer Camp! This hands-on camp is designed for teens ages 14-18 interested in learning about the exciting field of machining and manufacturing. This offers participants the chance to explore cutting-edge tools and technology used in the machining industry. Through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on learning, campers will gain real-world experience with tools like lathes, mills, CNC machines, and other essential equipment. Participants must register by May 1, 2026.

SCRUBS Camp

Scrubs Camp is a four-day camp for students entering grades 9-12. This camp will offer hands-on, engaging healthcare-related experiences for students, and an overview of exciting careers available in the healthcare field. Students will enjoy hands-on simulation and is intended for students who are interested in healthcare careers. Tour area medical facilities, Essentia Health and Aspirus St. Luke’s Hospital. Network with college students, faculty, and health professionals from the area.

SolidWorks Camp

The SolidWorks Camp is a four-day, hands-on experience designed for students entering grades 9-12 who are interested in pursuing a career in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Technology. Participants will learn fundamental skills in sketching, utilizing revolved features, assembly tools, and dimensioning techniques. This camp provides an exciting introduction to the design industry, focusing on problem-solving strategies while working collaboratively in a team setting. Participants must register by May 1, 2026.

Video Production Camp

Students will explore careers and interest in camera work and video production in a hands-on experience planning, shooting, and editing their own video projects. Students will also tour a local broadcast station to see the behind-the-scenes operations of local news.

Welding Camp

Participants will learn about the welding industry through hands-on activities and assembling prepared fabrication kits. They will learn about the tools and techniques used within the manufacturing industries. We will also tour local facilities and see different types of manufacturing in our local community. Participants must register by May 1, 2026.
