Asian American College Experience
The Asian American College Experience Camp invites students entering 9th grade to recently graduated 12th graders to join us this summer at Minnesota State University, Mankato. This camp will focus on Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) identities, college experiences, issues, and solidarity building as well preparing students for college. There are 40 spots available and students are encouraged to apply regardless of ethnicity.

Maverick Social Justice Summer Camp
The Maverick Social Justice Summer Camp aims to promote social justice issues and help cultivate secondary education (9th - 12th grade) student leaders. The camp exposes participants to various topics relevant to social justice, emphasizing issues of racism, sexism, and classism. Camp participants will also be encouraged to pursue higher education to serve their communities better.

STEM Meets, Ag, Food, and Natural Resources
Academy theme: Clean Air, Clear Water, Clean Earth (with a focus on agriculture and weather). The academy includes hands-on sessions, faculty and industry presenters, local tours, and a Shark-Tank student presentation. The week-long project consists of teams of students creating a green screen presentation related to water and agriculture while taking the role(s) of a(n) reporter, interviewer, explorer, investigator, producer, and/or actor within their presentation. Local tours will be to Hiniker Pond, Spring Lake Park, Minneopa State Park, and the Alternative Roots Farm.

Explore STEM Academy
Academy theme: Clean Air, Clean Water, Clean Earth (with a focus on water). The academy includes hands-on sessions, faculty and industry presenters, local tours (including a water treatment site), and a Shark-Tank student presentation. The presentation project consists of teams of students designing a water filtration system by asking, imagining, planning, and creating. Students will learn the importance of clean water and water conservation.

Camp Maverick: Rec N' Read
Camp Maverick: Rec N' Read is a literacy and recreation camp for elementary-aged children with disabilities or who struggle to learn to read and write. We have three hours of literacy intervention each day and recreation activities are designed to increase confidence, motivation and engagement. Literacy intervention consists of word work, writing and reading aloud and reading comprehension strategy instruction.

American Indian Summer Camp
The American Indian Summer Camp was created to help students experience what college may be like and see everything that Minnesota State University, Mankato has to offer! Some activities include: Dakota or Ojibwe language learning, college informational sessions, mock college classes, time in our Rec Center and the Maverick Bullpen! There are 40 spots available.

Transportation Works! Get Your Future in Gear
Get Your Future in Gear is a three-day camp hosted by Minnesota State University, Mankato. Camp is scheduled for June 21, 22 and 23, 2022 from 9a - 4p. Camp will take place at a different location every day to provide hands on, industry experience for students entering 9th grade through graduating seniors. Automotive Engineering will host students on campus!

Mankato Scrubs Camp
Campers will learn about geriatric care, pharmacy, audiology, physical therapy, diagnostic imaging, obstetrics/ gynecology, oncology, diabetes education, nutrition, emergency medical services, dental, and much more!

Latinx College Experience Camp
The Latinx College Experience Camp is an exciting overnight summer program for motivated 9th-12th grade Latino students. The camp promotes and supports college preparation among young students, provides information about career options, and helps them build leadership and teamwork skills. Food, housing, and activities will be provided to students at no cost.The experience will help students prepare for college through a variety of workshops.

How Does Your Garden Grow?
How does your garden grow? Let’s learn together! We will take field trips to the Blue Earth County Farm and Mankato Farmers Market. We will meet with local growers, dig in to the Maverick Food Garden, create a recipe with fresh produce we get at the market, and design our own locally-grown flower arrangements.
