Classes at the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities will be in session and all other system functions will continue as usual in the event of a partial state government shutdown.
This is possible because the Legislature approved and Gov. Tim Pawlenty signed a bill to fund higher education. The bill, appropriating an additional $107.5 million to the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities for the biennium beginning July 1, became law when the governor signed it on May 26.
