Lori Kloos Named President of St. Cloud Technical & Community College

ST. PAUL, Minn., Jan. 25, 2023 – The Board of Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities has named Lori Kloos to serve as president of St. Cloud Technical & Community College. Kloos has been serving as interim president of St. Cloud Technical & Community College since July, 2022 having succeeded Annesa Cheek who served as president from 2018 until 2022. The appointment of Kloos as the permanent president of St. Cloud Technical & Community College becomes effective immediately.

Lori will indeed be a steady hand and provide the strong leadership that the college and community are asking for.”

Kloos is an experienced higher education professional committed to continuous improvement and excellence in performance. Prior to her appointment as interim president, Kloos served St. Cloud Technical & Community College as vice president of administration and chief financial officer from 2000 until 2022. In this capacity, she was an integral member of the executive leadership team and worked with the president and other administrative leaders to set the strategic direction of the college. Her responsibilities included providing leadership and management of finances and budgets to establish and maintain fiscal sustainability while ensuring academic needs of students are met. She also served St. Cloud Technical & Community College as interim president from 2017 to 2018 and as acting president in 2005 and 2022. She holds a diploma from Austin Area Vocational Technical Institute (now Riverland Community College) and a bachelor’s degree from Moorhead State University (now Minnesota State University Moorhead).
