ST. PAUL, Minn., November 19, 2025 – The Board of Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities has voted unanimously to approve a contract extension of the employment agreement with Chancellor Scott Olson for a period of three additional years beyond its current end date of July 31, 2026. With the extension, the new end date for the employment agreement will be July 31, 2029.
“Chancellor Olson is passionate in the pursuit of student success and equity,” said board chair George Soule. “His leadership is inclusive, respectful, and collaborative, and he has provided sound, innovative measures to manage system financial challenges.”
“I am so grateful and honored to serve our students, employees, and the State of Minnesota doing the work that I love,” Olson said. “I’m inspired every day by my colleagues and our students, and I thank you for the opportunity to continue.”
