How will we know we're on the right track?
No plan can be successful without identifying what success looks like. Equity 2030 starts from the premise that the work must be evidence-based and data-informed.
Key enterprise initiatives being implemented across Minnesota State, such as guided learning pathways and Equity by Design, are aligned with Equity 2030 and founded on broad-based research and best practices from colleges and universities across the country. Under Equity 2030, faculty and staff customize and tailor these proven approaches to work for Minnesota’s learners and communities.
Integrated in the Equity 2030 strategic plan is a monitoring and evaluation framework to track and calibrate our progress. The framework will help in identifying practices and initiatives already underway that evidence demonstrates are effective. Equally important, the framework aids in identifying those practices or initiatives which are not proving to be successful in closing equity gaps within Minnesota State.
The monitoring and evaluation framework will align key data tools and processes already in use in use, such as the Student Success Accountability Measures and the Equity Scorecard initiative. Simultaneously, intentional effort to expand access to, and appropriate use of, disaggregated data by faculty and staff across Minnesota State will occur, helping to support the ongoing use of evidence-based practices and data-guided decision making.
Ultimately, the monitoring and evaluation framework and the expanded access to disaggregated data will enable Minnesota State to view progress toward closing educational equity gaps, as well as changes to campus and system policies and cultures necessary to prevent gaps from recurring in the future.
